Time Management Tips

Managing your Time

Time is essential. You need to properly manage your schedule to ensure that you stay on track and to avoid wasting time. Here are some ways to help you carry out your plan and maximize your PTE preparations.

  • Prioritize based on the importance of tasks
Planning is the golden rule of time management. Weigh your tasks based on urgency and importance. Create a checklist of the things that you need to accomplish for the day, and make sure that they are listed based on their rank. For instance, you can prioritize studying the lessons that will be discussed the next day. It helps in being prepared and accomplishing your tasks all at the same time.
  • Determine your productive time
Are you more of a morning person or a night person? Determining your productive time helps you become more efficient in your tasks. Furthermore, it helps ensure that you are performing activities with your best foot forward.
  • Block out distractions
Identify your distractors and determine ways to prevent them from taking your time. Learn to say no to party invites especially if you have already laid your review schedule for the day. Also, block out additional sites that can derail your train of thought.
  • Allow enough time for rest
Both your body and mind can get worn out with excessive reviewing. Make sure that you allocate time for short breaks during review sessions. Pause for a while to take a nap or snack on small meals. Also, ensure that you acquire at least eight hours of sleep per day. Getting enough rest helps you focus and follow your review timeline.
  • Be conscious of your leisure time
Take a break from time to time, but make sure that you keep track of the minutes or hours that you spend for leisure. Find out which activities take too much of your day. Do you spend too much time surfing the Internet or watching the television? Do these activities affect your schedule and make you inactive? If so, minimize your leisure time and allot a day instead for such activities. Setting the alarm is also one way to help keep you on track.

Follow these tips and manage your time wisely to maximize your preparations for the PTE exam.
